5 killed in Taliban attack

Kabul: At least two Taliban militants and three civilians were killed when unidentified assailants attacked Taliban vehicles in eastern Afghanistan on Wednesday. This is the most recent violence since the Taliban took control of the country in mid-August.

In a separate attack, gunmen opened fire on a Taliban vehicle at a petrol pump in the provincial capital, Jalalabad. Two Taliban members and an aide at a petrol pump were killed. Witnesses said a small boy was also killed in the shooting.

Another boy was killed and two Taliban militants were injured in a bomb blast in Jalalabad. One person was injured in the attack.
