73 km race to salute the national flag

Mumbai: The 73rd Republic Day of the country is on Wednesday and Deputy Commissioner Hari Balaji ran a distance of 73 km and saluted the national flag in a unique way. Last year, he had covered a distance of 72 km in Amravati on the occasion of Republic Day.

The expedition started from Bandra Kurla complex. Balaji, the Deputy Commissioner of Circle 1, along with 9 other runners had participated in this event. From there he went to Mulund. From there we returned to Bandra Kurla Complex area. From there he and his runners ran to Nariman Point. From there he came back to the Gateway of India. A total of three runners including Balaji covered a distance of 73 km. The other six covered a distance of 55 km. In the last 21 km distance, 70 runners had participated.

After that, the country’s tricolor flag was hoisted at the Gateway of India. Balaji had started running at 12 midnight. He reached Gateway of India around 8.30 am. Balaji had covered a distance of 72 km last year while working in Amravati.
