Action against corrupt ministers till December

Warning of Kirit Somaiya

Mumbai: Former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya on Monday warned that action would be taken against Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and all the corrupt ministers in his cabinet by December 31, citing ‘Alibaba and 40 thieves’.

BJP workers welcomed Somaiya, who had gone to Kolhapur to lodge a complaint against the corruption of Rural Development Minister Hasan Mushrif, but returned from Karad after being stopped by police. Speaking to activists, Somaiya accused Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, the state government and the Mumbai Municipal Corporation of corruption and announced that Maharashtra would be free of corruption by December 31. Alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi made India corruption free and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray made Maharashtra corrupt, Somaiya said, “Chief Minister Thackeray has built 19 illegal bungalows in the name of his wife Rashmi Thackeray and I will visit Alibag this week to inspect them.”

Allegations against Mumbai Municipal Corporation

Somaiya alleged that there was a lot of corruption in the purchase of Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s Remedesivir injection. The Municipal Corporation issued tenders stating that there is an urgent need for Remdesivir. Halfkin Institute bought Remedesivir at Rs 665 per injection, while Mumbai Municipal Corporation bought one injection at Rs 1,665. The corporation took 77,000 remedicivir injections and earned Rs 77 crore. Somaiya asked in whose pocket this money went.

Somaiya said the NMC had to cancel the tender after proving that the 11 companies that came forward were fake when it issued tenders for the supply of one crore vaccines. Mulund police illegally detained me at home for six hours. It was police repression. “I will not let go of the concerned officials,” Somaiya warned.

Departed for Mumbai

Kirit Somaiya, who had accused NCP leader Hasan Mushrif of scams, was arrested by the police at Karad railway station on the way to Kolhapur on the Mahalakshmi Express. After this, while talking to reporters at Karad, Somaiya made allegations against Hasan Mushrif. NCP president Sharad Pawar, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil along with Kolhapur District Collector and police were criticized by Somaiya. He was shifted to Mumbai at around 10 in the morning under tight police security.

‘… This arrangement was needed for Mushrif’s arrest’

Only Uddhav Thackeray can make history by stopping the complainant from entering Kolhapur district. BJP leader Kirit Somaiya has blamed Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil and the state-led government for keeping me locked up at home by giving wrong orders. .
