Amarinder’s readiness to field a strong candidate against Sidhu

Former Punjab Chief Minister Armandar Singh on Wednesday termed Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi as “inexperienced” Congress leaders. “We will field a strong candidate against state president Navjyot Singh Sidhu in the forthcoming assembly elections,” he said.

Amarinder had recently resigned as chief minister amid internal squabbles within the state Congress, describing Sidhu as “traitorous” and “dangerous”.

“We will vehemently oppose the promotion of Sidhu as the Chief Minister of Punjab,” Singh said in several interviews. He also said that he was ready to make any sacrifice to save the country from such a ‘dangerous man’.

“We will field a strong candidate against Sidhu to ensure his defeat in the 2022 assembly elections,” Singh said.
