Ambika Soni rejects Punjab Chief Minister’s offer

Ambika Soni interacted with Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi on Saturday night. He said that he had close ties with Punjab and wished that only one Sikh should be made the head of state. According to sources, Navjyot Singh Sidhu had also called him to explain, but he said he would not accept anything he was not sure about.

Ambika Soni was brought to the party by Indira Gandhi in 1969. At the time of partition, Ambika Soni’s father was the District Collector of Amritsar. He had worked closely with Nehru. Ambik Soni had also worked with Sanjay Gandhi. He was also responsible for many organizations of the party. Ambika Soni hails from Hoshiarpur district of Punjab and has often been a member of the Rajya Sabha.

Amarinder Singh resigns

State President Navjyot Singh Sidhu, Sunil Jakhar and Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa are in the lead for the Chief Minister’s post. According to party sources, the name of the next chief minister is likely to be announced after a meeting of the Congress Legislative Party. The meeting will be held in Chandigarh shortly.

The meeting took place at Rahul Gandhi’s residence in New Delhi.

Who can get the post of Chief Minister?

State President Navjyot Singh Sidhu, Sunil Jakhar and Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa are in the lead for the Chief Minister’s post. Apart from this, the names of senior party leaders Ambika Soni, Satisfied Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Brahma Mohindra, Vijay Inder Singh, Punjab Congress Working President Kuljit Singh Nagra and MP Pratap Singh Bajwa are also being discussed. The name that is coming up for the post of Deputy Chief Minister is senior Congress MLA Rajkumar Verka. If he is given the post of Deputy Chief Minister, he will represent the Dalit community.

Meanwhile, Amarinder Singh, one of the most powerful regional leaders of the Congress, tendered his resignation to the governor after discussions with party president Sonia Gandhi and before an important meeting of the Congress legislature party. “This is my Punjab. I did everything possible for my kingdom. I have been in politics for the last 52 years and will continue to do so. I have resigned; But options never run out in politics, “Amarinder told reporters.
