Decision of the World Health Organization on the issue of emergency recognition

The World Health Organization (WHO) has requested more information from Russia’s Gamaleya National Research Institute, the developer of the Sputnik V vaccine, for emergency approval.

The Sputnik V vaccine is currently being manufactured in India and is being sold through Reddy’s company. A final decision will be made after receiving all the information.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has said it will consider licensing the vaccine for emergency use once all information is available. Panasia Biotech has unveiled the first stock of Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine to India on September 7. Panasia Biotech and the Russian Direct Investment Fund said they had signed agreements with six Indian companies to manufacture the Sputnik V vaccine, which would be available from August and September.
