‘Atrocity’ in Sakinaka rape case

Mumbai: Police on Sunday filed a case under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Prevention of Atrocities Act against the accused for inhumanely sexually abusing a woman in Sakinaka area.

Police on Friday added a murder charge to the case, including a rape charge, following the victim’s death. This is followed by the Attrition clause.

A 34-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Sakinaka on Friday morning. Accused Mohan Chauhan had inflicted serious injuries on the victim’s genitals.
