Britain’s corona restrictions on India are racist; Criticism of Jairam Ramesh and Tharoor

Former ministers Jairam Ramesh and Shashi Tharoor on Monday criticized the rules on coronation set by Britain. “These rules smell of racism,” Ramesh said. According to the rules, Kovishield is also considered unvaccinated by Indians who have been vaccinated.

Due to these restrictions, he withdrew from the Cambridge Union Debating Society and the publication of the British edition of his book, The Battle of Billings, Tharoor said.

Other travelers, including Indians who have not been vaccinated and who do not have such certificates, are considered unvaccinated as per the international travel rules of England. Such passengers are required to undergo pre-travel tests, PCR tests on the second and eighth day of arrival in England, and self-segregation at the address provided up to 10 days after admission.

“The restrictions are bizarre considering that the Covishield vaccine was originally developed in the UK and was supplied to that country by the Pune Serum Institute,” tweeted Congress leader Jairam Ramesh. Tharoor also supported him on Twitter.
