Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wishes Hindi Day; The backdrop of the by-elections continues to be hotly debated

Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has wished her supporters a happy Hindi Day. However, while some were happy with his good wishes, some of his supporters in West Bengal also seem to be upset.

In a Hindi tweet on Tuesday, Mamata Banerjee congratulated Indians and those working for the preservation of the language. So, Mamata Banerjee’s wishes for Hindi Day have come with the important Bhawanipur by-election. A by-election has been demanded to retain Mamata Banerjee’s seat.

Bhawanipur in South Kolkata is one of the oldest areas in Kolkata with a large number of non-Bengali voters. Apart from Bengali with mixed population, this place has Gujarati, Marwari and Punjabi speaking voters.
