‘Co-operation for Oxygen Generation, Industry Sector Should Come Up’

 

Chief Minister Thackeray inaugurates Oxygen Project of Dharashiv Sugar Factory

Osmanabad: Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has expressed the need for the state’s co-operation and industry sector to take initiative for the production of oxygen required for the recovery of coronary heart disease patients.

The oxygen project at Dharashiv Sugar Factory at Chorakhali in Kalamb taluka was inaugurated online by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday. Dharashiv Sugar Factory is the first factory in the country to take the first step in the field of oxygen generation project with the help of ethanol production equipment in sugar factories.

The project was inaugurated by a telecommunications system. Union Road Development and Land Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Water Resources Minister Jayant Patil and Osmanabad Guardian Minister Shankarrao Gadakh were also present on the occasion.

Shiv Sena MP Om Rajenimbalkar, MLA Subhash Deshmukh, MLA Kailas Patil, factory president Abhijit Patil were present at the factory site.

Speaking further, Chief Minister Thackeray said that the prevalence of corona continues in the state. The number of corona patients and the death rate are worrisome. At present, there is a severe shortage of oxygen in the hospitals in the state. Therefore, to make the state self-sufficient in oxygen production, it is necessary to implement Mission Oxygen. In this case, the sugar industry should take the lead in the field of oxygen generation. In the first wave we set up a large-scale testing laboratory, Covid Care Center, increasing the capacity of the beds. But the challenge of the second wave is huge. But now if we look at the reports coming from different parts of the state, we can overcome this wave, said the Chief Minister.

Developed with some modifications to the ethanol project in the sugar factory, this project is very important in the fight against corona. Thackeray also said that other industries and co-operative sugar factories should be inspired by this. Abhijit Patil, President of the factory informed the dignitaries about the project. On this occasion, Union Minister Gadkari, Deputy Chief Minister Pawar and other dignitaries appreciated the work of the factory president and management board.
