Dharavi cylinder explosion: Four more killed

 

Mumbai: Four more people were killed in a cylinder blast in the bustling Shahu Nagar area of ​​Dharavi on Monday. That brings the death toll to five. The leaking cylinder was thrown down from the first floor. 17 people were injured in this accident. Five people, including an eight-year-old boy, died during treatment in the crash.

The accident took place near Mubarak Hotel in Kamla Nagar, Shahu Nagar, Dharavi on August 29 at 12.30 pm. The leak started from a cylinder placed outside the house on the first floor of the two-story house. The gas cylinder then exploded. Firefighters were able to put out the blaze in 15 minutes. However, the blast was so severe that 17 people were injured in the blast. The injured were admitted to Sion Hospital. Among the critically injured, eight-year-old Sonu Jaiswal died on August 31. In the last one week, Sitaradevi Jaiswal (40), Shaukat Ali (58), Anju Gautam (28) and Prem Jaiswal (32) have also died, the hospital said.

Of the other 12 injured in the accident, three are still in critical condition and five are in stable condition. All four have been treated and released.
