The quake affected many parts of Afghanistan. The quake killed at least 255 people and injured more than 150 others. The rescue operation is being carried out by the security forces. The quake affected Afghanistan, Pakistan and parts of India.

6.1 Richter scale shock

According to media reports, the magnitude 6.1 earthquake has shaken Pakistan as well as Afghanistan. Afghan government spokesman Bilal Karimi tweeted the news. Emergency services have also been called for help in the quake-hit areas. The US Geological Survey said the quake’s epicenter was 44 km south of Khot in Afghanistan.

Shock to Pakistan and India too

According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center, the quake had a magnitude of 500 km and affected Pakistan and India along with Afghanistan. According to Pakistani media reports, the quake affected Islamabad, Peshawar, Rawalpindi and Multan. The quake affected Burmal, Ziruk, Naka and Gyan districts of Afghanistan. The death toll in the area has risen to 255 and more than 155 people have been injured. The bodies are being exhumed from under the mound and the injured are being airlifted to the hospital by helicopter.
