Modern living is putting pressure on senior citizens. At the same time, they have to face financial difficulties to meet their health and other needs. Due to lack of regular health check-ups, various ailments are noticed in the last stage. This delays treatment and puts the patient at risk. With all these factors in mind, it has been decided to launch a health insurance cover scheme for senior citizens. For this, a committee has been set up under the chairmanship of Sudhakar Shinde, Chief Executive Officer, State Health Guarantee Society.
