The same contractor is being hired illegally without issuing a tender for the cleaning work of the hospital. Shiv Sena’s Sameer Bagwan has lodged a complaint directly with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and demanded an inquiry into the matter. Mechanical cleaning work of municipal hospitals at Vashi, Koparkharne, Tubhre, Airoli, Nerul is being given to BVG. The company has been contracted to carry out the cleanup since 2006. Due to expiration of this contract in June 2011, only two tenders were received. Bagwan has alleged that the extension was illegal. Again, in the meeting held by the Commissioner on 27th August 2015, the term has been extended for the third time in a row. May B.V.G. Bagwan has raised the question as to which rules are being followed for the extension given to the company India. The contract of Rs. Shiv Sena’s Sameer Bagwan has complained about this directly to the Chief Minister. The tender process has to be started with three months left till the expiry of the contract after awarding the contract for three years at Vashi Hospital, but without doing so, the same contractor has been retained with extension. For the last ten years, the same contractor has been given continuous extensions. What is special is that this contract rate is being monitored from the funds empowered by the Municipal Commissioner. Bagwan has demanded the Chief Minister and the Leader of Opposition of the Municipal Corporation to inquire into the cleaning contract of the Municipal Corporation.
