Mumbai: Despite the crisis of corona in the state, in the last one and a half years, jobs have been created for about 3 lakh unemployed in private and public companies and industries. Unemployed youth are being provided employment through various initiatives being implemented by the State Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship Department. 91,000 private companies looking for skilled candidates have registered with the department.
In the country and the state, in March 2020, a lockout had to be imposed to combat the corona epidemic. Its biggest blow fell on industry and business. As a result, a large number of jobs were lost. Government recruitment was almost stopped. In such a situation, the Skill Development Department, in coordination with the private sector, started implementing some initiatives to recruit skilled candidates for various companies and industries. The department’s code was launched. Unemployment rallies were held online. As a result, last year, in the year 2020, 1 lakh 99 thousand 486 candidates were employed in the state, while in the current year, from January to August, 1 lakh 11 thousand 83 unemployed people got employment opportunities, said Nawab Malik, Minister for Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship. . He said 17,372 unemployed candidates got jobs in August last month.
Unemployed candidates register on the website of the Department of Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship with information about their education, skills, experience etc. Companies and industries looking for skilled candidates also register on the web portal. So far, 91,091 public and private entrepreneurs have registered with the department on the Mahasvayam web portal. Unemployed people are getting employment opportunities from this, informed Malik.
