The Indian economy has been hit hard by the economic downturn, with massive job cuts. On the other hand, the BJP government in the state is claiming that employment has increased in the state. Maharashtra Youth Congress president Satyajit Tambe tweeted a photo of Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli in a different style.
The BJP is being watched by the Congress over the Indian economy and rising unemployment. Leaders like former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi have blamed the Modi government’s policies for the crisis in the economy and rising unemployment.
Now Maharashtra Youth Congress President Satyajit Tambe has also jumped into it. Satyajit Tambe has made a sarcastic comment on the employment generation in the state during the BJP regime. Tambe tweeted a photo of Virat Kohli shaking hands. He has been criticized for “shaking hands with the youth who got employment in Maharashtra in the BJP state”.

India’s unemployment rate stood at 8.1 per cent in the first three weeks of April, according to the Center for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. This had supported the opposition’s allegations of rising unemployment during the Modi government. “In the first week of April, the rate was 7.9 per cent, in the second week 8.1 per cent and in the third week 8.4 per cent,” the CMIE had said.
