Nawab Malik accused of violating Central Service Rules

Nawab Malik, the state’s Minority Development Minister, on Friday revealed another restaurant and bar license in the name of Sameer Wankhede, divisional director of the Central Narcotics Control Department in Mumbai. Malik has accused Wankhede of flouting the rule that no other business can be done while in the central service.

Sameer Wankhede’s father had obtained a restaurant and bar license in Wankhede’s name in 1997 while working in the state excise department. Malik said that it was renewed till 2022 by paying Rs. 3 lakh 17 thousand 650. Sameer Wankhede was given a license in his name when he was 17 years, 10 months and 19 days old. He said that his bar has been operating in Navi Mumbai since 1977 till date.

‘Defamation Purpose’

A photo of me owning a bar has been circulated on social media with the intention of defaming me and is not my photo. “I have not done any business since I was in the service,” Wankhede said.
