Heavy rains lashed Surat district in south Gujarat on Wednesday. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in sparse parts of the state till Saturday morning, the meteorological department said.

The State Transport Corporation has said that it is not possible to run 522 rounds of the bus as 165 routes are closed. Most of these roads are in Jamnagar, Junagadh district and have been hit hardest by torrential rains on Sunday and Monday. As 3 large dams in Rajkot, Jamnagar and Porbandar districts are releasing large amount of water into the rivers, 48 ​​villages in this district are likely to be affected.
