Mumbai: Nawab Malik, the National Spokesperson of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the state’s Minority Development Minister, alleged that ministers and leaders in the Mahavikas Alliance government were being targeted after Indian Police Service (IPS) officials met Delhi and Mumbai with Leader of the Opposition Devendra Fadnavis. He also claimed that he had evidence that the meeting had taken place. The BJP has avoided Malik’s allegations.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has initiated action against former BJP minister Eknath Khadse, former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and state Transport Minister Anil Parab. Speaking to media at the NCP office here on Tuesday, Malik said the Center was targeting anti-BJP political leaders by holding hands with the CBI, ED and some other investigative agencies.
Opposition leader Praveen Darekar accused Malik of doing nothing but accusing the Center of failing to do so.
