More than 65 lakh vaccinations per week in the state

Sindhudurg is leading in vaccination over 45 years and Mumbai over 18 years

Mumbai: Vaccination in the state has gained momentum in September and 65 lakh 15 thousand people have been vaccinated in the last eight days. Sindhudurg has the highest number of immunizations in the state over 45 years, while Mumbai has the highest number of immunizations under 18 years.

Vaccination has started at a rapid pace in the state since July. 1 crore 21 lakh was disbursed in July. The highest number of vaccinations was received this month as the highest amount of 14.4 million was received so far in August. Due to large stock of vaccines received by the state from 1st to 8th September, 65 lakh 15 thousand 976 quantities were given.

In Sindhudurg, 90 per cent citizens above 45 years of age have taken the first dose of vaccine. It is followed by Kolhapur (85 per cent), Bhandara (83 per cent), Satara (79 per cent) and Sangli (77 per cent). In Mumbai, 71 per cent of people between the ages of 18 and 44 have taken the first dose of the vaccine. This is followed by Pune at 67 per cent and Bhandara at 56 per cent.

Records in Mumbai and the state

The state has set a new record of vaccinating 15 lakh 3 thousand 959 people on Wednesday. This is the highest number of vaccinations in a single day so far, said Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Dr. Pradip Vyas said. Mumbai also recorded the highest number of 1 lakh 84 thousand vaccinations on Wednesday and Mumbai has also set a new record of vaccination. 1 lakh 24 thousand vaccinations have been done at the center of the municipality on Wednesday, said Suresh Kakani, additional commissioner of the municipality.
