Muslim cleric arrested in conversion case

Maulana Kalim Siddiqui, a religious leader from Meerut, was arrested by the anti-terrorism squad from Meerut on Tuesday night in connection with the conversion case, the Additional Director General of Law and Order said.

After the cleric was arrested, he was brought to the headquarters of the anti-terrorism squad. He had earlier been produced in court. Mufti Qazi Jahangir Alam Kasmi and Mohammad Umar Gautam, both residents of Jamianagar in Delhi, who run a Muslim drug center, were earlier arrested. He was working to convert deaf and dumb people on the instructions of ISI.

On June 20, the anti-terror squad had exposed the proselytizing group. So far 10 people including Siddiqui have been arrested. Siddiqui was involved in an illegal conversion gang.
