Offices of officials in the Ministry of Defense removed for PM’s residence; There will be a shift of 7,000 people

Construction of the new parliament and its surroundings is currently underway under the Central Vista Project. In this, several new office buildings including the residences of the Prime Minister and the Vice President and the Central Secretariat are being set up for the offices of the Ministry.

Meanwhile, the offices of several Defense Ministry officials on Dalhousie Road in Delhi are being shifted to the Prime Minister’s residence. More than 700 offices have been removed for the new residence and office of the Prime Minister. According to NDTV, about 7,000 ministry officials will be shifted to offices at Kasturba Gandhi Marg in Delhi and Africa Avenue near Chanakyapuri.

According to the report, 50 acres of land has been made available near the South Block due to the removal of Defense Ministry offices. It will be used for the Executive Enclave in the Central Vista Project. Apart from the Prime Minister’s residence, there will also be offices for senior officials. The inaugural function will be held at the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to a senior government official, all offices on Dalhousie Road will be vacated and relocated in the next two months. He also said that 7,000 employees from 27 different organizations will be shifted this time. This includes the affiliated offices of the Ministry of Defense, Service Headquarters and other subordinate offices.

The Defense Ministry Complex is a seven-storey building at Africa Avenue in Chanakyapuri and will house only the Defense Ministry office. The other offices will be in an eight-storey building in central Delhi.
