Mumbai: NCP President Sharad Pawar on Thursday called on Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on the backdrop of heated atmosphere in the state regarding OBC reservation and local body elections and complaints made by NCP MLAs about Shiv Sena’s Guardian Minister. At this time, Pawar handed over a check of Rs. 2 crore 36 lakhs from Rayat Shikshan Sanstha to the Chief Minister.
For the last few days, the issue of local body elections and OBC reservation has been a hot topic for all parties. Also last week, Raju Shetty’s name was dropped from the list for the appointment of 12 MLAs. Apart from this, elections have also been declared for the Rajya Sabha seat which has become vacant due to the death of Rajiv Satav. Against the backdrop of all these developments, Sharad Pawar met Chief Minister Thackeray and the two became divided over the current situation.
Meanwhile, MP Sharad Pawar handed over a check of Rs. Chief Secretary of the state Sitaram Kunte was present on the occasion. Teachers of various schools, colleges and non-teaching staff of Rayat Shikshan Sanstha in the state have contributed one day’s salary to this fund.
