Recommendations for the post of Chief Justice

The apex court bench has recommended the names of eight judges to the central government for appointment as chief justices of the high courts, sources said on Friday. The bench also recommended that the current Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court, Akil Qureshi, be transferred to the Rajasthan High Court.

Chief Justice N. V. The three-member bench headed by Raman has made these recommendations. Among the eight recommendations for the post of Chief Justice of the High Court is Rajesh Bindal, the Chief Justice in charge of the Calcutta High Court. Prashant Kumar Mishra, Justice. Ritu Raj Awasthi, Justice. Satish Chandra Sharma, Justice. Ranjit V. Morey, Justice. Arvind Kumar, and Justice. R. V. Malimath is included. Justice Srivastava, Mishra and Awasthi have been recommended for the post of Chief Justice of the High Courts of Calcutta, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. So Justice. Sharma, More, Arvind Kumar and Malimath have been recommended for the post of Chief Justice of Telangana, Meghalaya, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh High Courts.

The tribunal has recommended the transfer of 28 existing high court judges, including five existing chief justices of various high courts.

Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court Arupkumar Goswami transferred to Chhattisgarh High Court, Madhya Pradesh High Court Chief Justice. It has been recommended that Mohammad Rafiq be transferred to the Himachal Pradesh High Court. The current Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, Justice. Inderjit Mahanti has been recommended to be transferred to the Tripura High Court.
