Shiv Sena to contest Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Goa

Mumbai: The Shiv Sena has announced its decision to contest the Uttar Pradesh and Goa Assembly elections next year to make the former co-operative party BJP a political dilemma. Shiv Sena is planning to contest about 100 seats in Uttar Pradesh and about 20 seats in Goa.

We are going to contest 100 out of 403 seats in Uttar Pradesh. On the other hand, in Goa, we can contest elections for 20 seats and form an alliance, said Shiv Sena chief spokesperson and MP Sanjay Raut. After the 2019 assembly elections in Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena left the BJP and formed the Mahavikas Aghadi government. After that, the Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray had given hints from time to time to politicize Hindutva at the national level. Shiv Sena has also announced its decision to contest elections in Uttar Pradesh and Goa to create competition for BJP in Hindutva politics.
