State’s path to anarchy – Ashish Shelar

Mumbai: BJP MLA Ashish Shelar on Monday said that the state is in a state of ‘complainants are localized and gangsters are free all over the state’ and the state is heading towards anarchy. He also demanded an inquiry by a retired High Court judge into the whereabouts of Kirit Somaiya by the police.

Kirit Somaiya was on his way to Kolhapur to lodge a complaint with the police station about the financial misconduct of Rural Development Minister Hasan Mushrif. But Somaiya was detained at his Mulund home for about four hours in the afternoon and at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in the evening. After a scuffle with the police, Karhad was dropped off on his way to Kolhapur. The action taken by the Mumbai Police on the Kolhapur District Collector’s entry ban order and the notice issued in the evening were already illegal. Shelar demanded an inquiry into the incident as it was suspected that the chief minister’s office had no information. In Beed, Karuna Sharma, who was on his way to lodge a complaint against Minister Dhananjay Munde, was arrested on a charge of carrying a pistol, alleging that those who opposed the ruling party were sent to jail.
