The central government insisted on paving the way for the bullet train project

Mumbai: Minister of State for Railways Raosaheb Danve on Wednesday convened a meeting in Mumbai to review the progress of work on important railway projects in Mumbai, including the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project.

The Bullet Train project is an ambitious project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and efforts are being made by the Union Government and the Ministry of Railways to complete it soon. Although this project was opposed by all the three parties in the Mahavikas Aghadi government, the Shiv Sena has taken a cooperative role to make the land available in Thane district. The land acquisition of the project has been cold for the last two years due to political opposition and corona. A corona hospital has been set up at the site of the underground station in the Bandra-Kurla complex. There are difficulties in getting this place as the hospital is needed till the end of Corona’s company.

Therefore, other issues including land acquisition will be reviewed by the Revenue Department officials, Thane and Palghar District Collectors on Wednesday. Danve told Loksatta that he would hold a meeting with the concerned officials of the High Speed Railway Corporation and the Railway Ministry.
