There is a technical issue regarding Deshmukh’s petition

Mumbai: The petition filed by former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh against the summons issued by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) in a financial malpractice case should be heard in a single bench before a bench of the High Court on Tuesday. Until then, the court did not comment on Deshmukh’s demand for relief from action.

Deshmukh has filed a petition seeking cancellation of the action taken by the ED as well as the summons issued so far. The petition was heard before Justice Sandeep Shinde on Thursday. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta drew the court’s attention to the point made by the Registrar’s Office of the High Court that the petition should go to the bench instead of a single bench considering the nature of the issue in the petition at that time.
