Bhopal: Three Naxalites, including a woman, were killed in a clash with security forces in Madhya Pradesh’s Balaghat district on Monday morning. The government had offered a reward of up to Rs 3 lakh for information leading to the capture of the three. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Home Minister Narottam Mishra informed about the incident.

The state government has announced promotions and gallantry awards for the police personnel who have done this. Mishra told reporters that the clash took place between police and Naxalites at Bahela police station in Balaghat district. Three Naxalites were killed. Police have seized AK-47 rifles, 303 assault rifles and 12 bore rifles from the spot. The Madhya Pradesh government’s Hawk Force has killed Nagesh, a member of the Naxal divisional committee, and Manoj, an area commander, and Mahila Rame, a member of the Naxal divisional committee. Nagesh got Rs 15 lakh and Manoj and Rame got Rs 8 lakh each. Mishra congratulated the entire police squad for this achievement. He said that the Hawk Force was taking continuous and vigilant action in all the Naxal-affected areas.
