Trinamool MP says, “Rahul Gandhi can’t be an alternative to Modi, but”

There is a lot of talk that other opposition parties in the country have come together against the Bharatiya Janata Party for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. However, on the other hand, the Trinamool Congress does not consider former Congress president Rahul Gandhi as the face of the Opposition. Rahul Gandhi cannot be a substitute for Prime Minister Modi, say Trinamool Congress leaders. The Trinamool is saying that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be the face against Prime Minister Modi. The role came up at an internal meeting of the TMC in Kolkata on Thursday (September 16).

This role coming from the TMC is considered very important at a time when the possibility of uniting the opposition against the BJP is increasing in the country. TMC MP Sudip Bandopadhyay said, “We are not talking about forming an alliance except for the Congress. But, I have seen Rahul Gandhi for a long time. Rahul Gandhi did not prepare himself to be an alternative to Modi. The whole country wants love. Therefore, we will promote Mamata Banerjee as the face of the Opposition. ” Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek had recently said in a statement that the Congress party was weak.

Always objecting to Rahul Gandhi?

The TMC has always had respect for Congress President Sonia Gandhi. But when it comes to Rahul Gandhi, party leaders have objected. Similarly, the Trinamool Congress wants Mamata Banerjee to be the face of the Opposition. Party leaders have repeatedly reiterated their demand. On the other hand, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has always said that the unity of the opposition is more important to her than her position.

‘Congress just a warrior in 2024 Lok Sabha?’

After winning the West Bengal Assembly elections, the TMC is focusing on one issue. That is, “In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress will not be the main leader, but only a warrior fighting together.” The same sentiment was seen in the statement given by Bandopadhyay. Speaking to News18, Congress MP Pradip Bhattacharya said, “It would be too early to say what will happen in 2024. So far, relations between the Congress and the TMC have been good. ” However, political experts believe that by 2024, there will be many ups and downs in this relationship.
