Two days of rain in the state; Emphasis on Konkan, Central Maharashtra

Pune / Mumbai: Due to nutritious weather, more or less rain is expected in the next two days in the state. The Konkan and Ghat areas of Central Maharashtra will continue to receive heavy rainfall. The meteorological department has forecast torrential rains in some parts of the state on September 13. Meanwhile, rains lashed the ghat areas of Konkan and western Maharashtra as well as parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada on Sunday.

A low pressure area has formed in the Bay of Bengal. Similarly, a low pressure belt has formed in Gujarat. The belt, which is expected to receive monsoon rains, extends from Gujarat to the Bay of Bengal. The intensity of the low pressure belt in the Bay of Bengal will increase. All this is likely to affect Maharashtra. Therefore, more or less rain is expected in all parts of the state on September 13.

On Sunday, light to moderate rains were recorded in many places in Konkan division, Mumbai and Ratnagiri. Rains were recorded in Pune, Kolhapur, Mahabaleshwar and Nashik areas of Central Maharashtra. Aurangabad in Marathwada, Amravati in Vidarbha, Chandrapur, Nagpur, Wardha and other areas received light rain. In the last 24 hours, 100 to 170 mm of rain was recorded in Matheran, Mahabaleshwar, Lonavla, Tamhini and other parts of the Ghats. Three more rains are expected in the Konkan region and two days in central Maharashtra. It will rain in many places in Marathwada and Vidarbha for two days.

Strong winds are expected along the west coast for the next three to four days. As a result, torrential to very heavy rains will fall in Mumbai and Konkan. Heavy to very heavy rains will fall at sparse places in Palghar, Thane and Ratnagiri on Monday. Heavy rains are expected in Raigad and Mumbai. Total rainfall was recorded at 2789.8 mm at Santa Cruz and 2149.5 mm at Ku Laba till 8.30 am on Sunday.

Rainfall

Heavy rains are expected in some parts of Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts from September 14 to 15. Heavy rains are forecast in ghat sections of Pune, Kolhapur and Satara districts till September 14. Nandurbar, Nashik, Jalgaon districts will receive moderate rainfall. Rain is expected in Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli and Nanded districts on September 13. On this day, light to moderate rains are forecast in some places in all the districts of Vidarbha.
