When will the corona vaccine for children come? Other Poonawala made a big announcement!

On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, a dose of around two and a half crore vaccines was given across the country on Friday, September 17. While this background is appreciated from all levels, on the other hand, the vaccine for young children has not yet arrived. Therefore, vaccines are still awaited for boys and girls below the age of 18 years. Against this backdrop, Serum Institute CEO Adar Poonawala has made an important announcement in this regard. Covishield vaccines are being produced at the Serum Institute’s plant in Hadapsar. The vaccine is being given to everyone above the age of 18 and now the population under the age of 18 is also waiting to get the vaccine.

In a press conference held on Friday, Adar Poonawala answered a question in this regard. “Tests for the covavax vaccine for children are going well,” he said. If all the tests and procedures are carried out properly, the vaccine for children will be available in early January next year, in January-February 2022, ”said Poonawala. “Many volunteers have been given vaccine doses for testing. The tests are running smoothly. These tests will be reviewed by the end of this year, ”said Poonawala.

How safe is the vaccine?

Informing about the testing process, Adar Poonawala said, “It will take us at least 3 to 4 months to check how safe the vaccine is for children. We are working on this in stages. Children below 12 years are also included in the tests. All parents want their children safe. We believe that Kovavax will be approved by January-February next year. However, this can only happen when DCGI deems it appropriate to do so. ”

“If only you had a gold medal and a new world record”, Anand Mahindra tweeted about vaccination!

Vaccine test on 920 people!

Last year, NovoVax, an American vaccine company, entered into an agreement with the Serum Institute to produce its vaccines. The vaccine is called NVX-CoV2373, meaning Covovax. This is the fourth vaccine to be tested in India. These tests are being performed on 2 to 17 year olds to test how the immune system responds to the vaccine and how safe the vaccine is. For this, 920 volunteers from a total of 10 places across the country have been vaccinated. 2 of them are in Pune.
